Cant open jpegs within Outlook

Hi
I am using Outlook 2003. When I receive a jpeg attachment it won't allow me
to open it when I double click it. I have to save it onto my hard drive and
then it will let me open it no problem
Any ideas as to how to fix this problem

That's a security setting you can change in Tools, Options, Security, Change
Auto download settings button, uncheck "Don't download......" Leave "warn
me....etc" checked. Be sure your antivirus is working and up to date.

I had a similar issue, but got a message saying application not found when
double clicking the jpeg attachment, and discovered that I had to go to
control panel, folder options and change the program associated with jpg
files. It was trying to open with an old software from an old digital camera
I had that had been uninstalled. In windows xp, you may need to change to
classic view in control panel to find the folder options icon.
