Can't open Internet Explorer

I can access websites through aol's built in browser, but
I also have Internet Explorer on my computer outside of
aol. Until today it has worked fine, now whenever I
attempt to open it I get the blue screen saying, "An Error
Has Occurred" and I can shut down or else hit any key to
return to windows (without IE opening) ... Error:
0E:0028:C00587C9. I tried downloading updates / fixes
but I keep getting the blue screen. Does anyone know how
to fix this ?

IE 6. Rule out parasites.
If you have more to the OE errors message it could help.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.
