Can't open internet explorer

Here is a problem!! I can't open internet explorer! When i run event viewer
it says it cannot locate index.dat.

Other strange things are that i can't open control panel the computer just
freezes.

Ran antivirus but still got a prob

Can anyone help

How is that gonna help with the Control Panel problem?

As Kelly pointed out, the OP is likely infested with malware.

Thank God some MVPs actually know what they're talking about.
