Quick fix: If this problem happened recently, click your Start button, click All
Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When System Restore opens select the
option: Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time, and click the NEXT button at the bottom of
the window. When the next window opens it will be divided into two panes. In the left
pane will be a calendar. The bold dates are the ones with Restore Points. Click a bold
date as close as possible but BEFORE the start of the problem, and click that date. In
the right pane you will see the Restore Point or Points for that date. Click on the
Restore Point to highlight it if it isn't already highlighted, then click the NEXT button,
and follow the rest of the wizard. It will take a while to reboot, as the registry for
the date you select will replace the current registry. You won't lose any of your data
files. But if you've installed any programs or Windows Updates since the date of the
Restore Point that you select, you will have to reinstall them.
