Jeff

When i try to open explorer, all I get is a screen that say
"internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the incomvenience." Then I send
in the error report and it closes. I have tried to
download, updates, new IE6 which i won't reinstall, and it
still does the same thing. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

As a temporary fix go to internet options in your control
panel, click on Advanced Tab and disenable the "allow
third party extensions box" and restart. This will allow
you to use internet but I imagine not in all capacities.
This is still a significant problem that evreyone on XT
with 6.0 seem to be having since yesterday. I guess we can
wait and see if a fix is forthcoming through Microsoft.>--

I had the same problem. IT began today. I ran CWShredder and the problem was solved. The link is in one of the mails in theis area. I believe that it was early in AM on 2/26

Hope this helps
