Can't open database!!!

Hi, I have an Access database that I opened at a previous job with a
different username. I have copied this database to my new home pc and I am
having troubles running it. It says that I do not have Open/Run permissions.

Is there a way around this? I have gone into permissions but cannot fix it.

It no longer knows who you are. It likely had user lever security
applied. It had a workgroup file that provided a list of users and their
permissions. Now you have no workgroup file so you have no permissions.

I would suggest that you need to go back to your prior employer to get
the necessary file(s). Does your prior employer know you took that
information and did they agree that you should have it? Would they be
willing to give you a copy of the file unsecured?

Hi. Yes, it is just a fairly simplistic room booking system. There is no
information in the database.

Unfortunately it is not easy to get back to employer as I have moved.

Is there no other way around it then?

I would try making sure the file is located in a folder that you have
full (read, write, create, delete and modify) rights and do a right click on
the file and check properties to assure it is not read only etc..

I doubt if any of that will work. It is possible to crack the security.
You can do some searches on the web, but check the price before you agree
since it is not likely be be cheap.

Could you e-mail your prior employer and see if there is a password or
have them send you a copy of the workgroup file?
