Can't open a pdf file

I can't open any pdf files. It will download them and
then when it tries to open them, a Microsoft Chat box
appears and says Not a Microsoft Conversation file, then I
click OK and it brings up the Microsoft Chat window. I'm
sure it is very simple to fix, but I can't figure it out.
Where do I go to change the settings for files that
Outlook Express opens???

Change the Folders options in Windows Explorer or Control Panel to correct
the association of the .PDF file type.
