Cant open a new window in the browser

For 2 years the Internet Explorer 6.0 worked fine. Now
when I open a new window thru the browser, the first one
closes. I can only have one window open at one time.
anyone know a way to fix this?

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Do you have Yahoo companion?

Subject: When I launch an instance of IE6, it seems to launch the next
instance of the window, but then it closes it and launches the new one over
the existing one. Thus, I can't have multiple instances of I.E. running.
Very frustrating.

Solution: Yahoo Companion.
I uninstalled it and I'm now able to open new windows (Ctrl-N or
File/new/window)
