can't network XP and 2000

Hi,

Here's my setup in room 1 (computer name = "MOE") :
wall -> cable modem -> Linksys router -> ethernet to XP machine
This works fine.

In room 2 I have (computer name = "LARRY"):
2000 machine -> Linksys wireless adapter
This also works fine for going online.

The problem is that the XP can't see the 2000 and vice-versa, and I'd
like to share files and printers.

They're in the same workgroup.
I think I've set the file persmisions to share on both.
I'm on MOE (XP) and try to MAP network drive, but I get "You cannot
create a new folder here..."

Help. Please. What do I do?

any firewalls, in the LAN connection on the two machines do you have file
and printer sharing enabled. Can you ping the other pc? I normally share
my CD drive just to test, right click on it and select sharing and security
and tick the box to share the drive. If you have a firewall either disable
it (after disconnecting from the net) just for testing

I'm trying to follow those instructions.
I've removed Zone Alarm from both machines.
My XP can ping the 2000 but the 2000 won't ping the XP.
I'm at the point where I need to make sure that NetBEUI, IPX, and
TCP/IP are not all installed, but I can't find it on XP or 2000. Where
do I find out?

that's in network properties. You may need more direct help or
some step-by-step instructions on how to install the network,
but I don't have these, sorry.
