Can't move worksheet to new workbook

I have a client who has always imported comma delimited files into Excel and
then copied that worksheet into a master .xls workbook using the Move
function. With Excel 2007 this is no longer working. It gives an error
stating that the destination does not have enough rows and columns. However
this move function works if moving a worksheet that started off as an .xls
file - not .txt. Could someone please offer some assistance? Thank you.

Hi David

Could you provide a few more details.
You talk about comma delimited files at the beginning, then .txt files
at the end. Are these files .csv and being opened directly, or are they
..txt and going through the Text to columns import wizard?
Can you give some indication of the size of the file being imported -
how many columns, how many rows?

Hi Roger,

The file is a .txt file and we use Excel to do a Text Import Wizard using
Fixed Width fields (Excel...file...open...All files...open file.txt)
The .txt file I'm testing at the moment is only 17 rows high and 15 columns
wide so it's not very big.

Thanks
David

Hi David

If you would like to send me a copy of the file, I will test it on my
machine and see if I experience the same problem.
There is a problem with Get External Data from Text files, when you go
to Data>Connections>Properties.

To send direct, email to roger at technology4u dot co dot uk
Do the obvious with at and dot.
