Can't Logon

I just posted this tonight, but I think I did something wrong and I don't
know what forum it went to. Sorry if it shows up twice!

I have a Windows XP Home Edition laptop that boots to the logon screen, even
in Safe Mode or Command Prompt Only Mode. The problem is that the logon
screen is fairly normal except the user icon and the password bar aren't
there. If I press Ctrl-Alt-Del, a different logon screen comes up, but it
will not accept my user name and password, including the "administrator" user
name. No matter what I try, I get the following window titled "Logon
Message". It says, "The system cannot log ou on due to the following error:
The handle is invalid. Please try again or consult your system
administrator."

Thanks for any ideas on what may be causing this or how to resolve the
problem.

Hi there Trmptr64,

Try spelling Administrator with a capital A. Also, try a blank password if
you didn't put one in. Unfortunately, you may have to reload or recover the
system if you do not know the password to the machine.

Good Luck to you! Let us know how it goes!

Best Regards,

~Will
