Can't logon to some web-sites

I downloaded IE-6.0 after installing it I can't logon to
web-sites that I used to logon to,

I get this message send error report.
Microsoft Internet has encountered a problem and needs to
close. Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer

The error signature is
AppName iexplorer.exe
ModVer: 6.1.8293.0 Offset 000154a7
ModName msvcrt,dll
How can I fix it?
