Can't logoff from Remote Desktop Connection

I can logon to my office machine using Remote Desktop
Connection and do whatever I need to. But when I click
the LOGOFF button from the Logoff popup window, nothing
happens and I remained logon. I can disconnect but not
logoff. I can log on with another account and forced the
other account to be logoff. The only way that I can log
off from the active account is to reconnect locally on
the machine. All accounts I tried has local
administratior priviledges. The machines has all the
updates installed. I checked all the running services and
none are running using the user account. I logged on
remotely to this machine from several other XP machines
and got the same behavior. I have setup other Windows XP
machines and never has this problem before. I would
appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem.

Do you see the same problem when you try logging off directly from the
(physical) console instead of the remote desktop session. If you can do that
but not just from the RD session, then there is some application that runs
only in RD session that is holding this. This should further help us narrow
down the problem further.
