Cant Login When Not Connected to LAN

I cannot login to my laptop when I am not connected to my
companys LAN. This happens intermittently. Sometimes I can
login, sometimes I cannot. I try logging in through both
my hostname & domain name.

After I enter my username & password, my background
picture displays, but the start menu or any desktop icons
do not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ask your system administrator to set up a local
account for you.

Hi Bill,
If you are partially logging in with your Domain account then it sounds like
you might have a corrupted cached profile.

If you are currently using roaming profiles on your company lan then you
should be able to delete/rename your cached profile under documents and
settings and then logon to the lan to download the roaming one.
You should now be able to logon whilst offline using the cached profile.
