Can't log into specific sites

Is there a reason why I can log into a specific secure site
(i.e. Nextel) from work but not from home? I get the
several minutes of "hanging" after I type in my user ID
and password with a reply of "page cannot be displayed". I
have checked my security, encryption, deleted cookies,
latest IE version, etc..
I can get in fine from my work computer or someone else's
at a remote location. I use XP, have a DSL modem, Linksys
router and Norton.
Thanks for anyone's help in this matter.
