Hello Again,
I restored a WinXP install from a BKF files I'd made last week. That
install did not have the WMD files/device/drivers/etc. for my Sound Blaster
Audigy 4 Pro installed.
I did previously have the Audigy 4 installed, but had neglected to make a
BKF (backup) of that install.
Now, I'm trying to install the Audigy 4 software (because everything else
is working fine as far as I can tell. However, now, I have gotten a "Code
37" error, and upon install re-attempt, a "Code 1" error, both with
messages that the device could not be initialized.
I've set all files in XP to be writable, but that didn't solve the problem.
I now know that the "repair" option on the installation CD will only wipe
out all my current info and just create even *more* stuff in the "Documents
and Settings" directory, so I know not to try that again =:-o !
But any tips, suggestions, or clues would be great. I couldn't find info
on the Microsoft site, but maybe I wasn't using the right search terms.
TIA!
