S Stefan Blom May 20, 2008 #2 If the problem occurs only when you double-click the icons in Windows Explorer (not when you open them via the Open dialog box), try re-registering Word (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm).
