can't list files or folders through ftp.

I connect to ftp server(UNIX) from windows xp with dos command "ftp"
I can't list any of the files or folders from a certain PC, even though I
get a message "login successful"
Why this happen?

Ca you list the files and folders from other #PCs, using
the same credentials ?

It should make no difference which machine you use. The
FTP server can deny list permission for a given username.

Have you tried doing this via Internet Explorer ?
(e.g. ftp://ftp.microsoft.com )
