can't launch outlook

"cannot start microsoft outlook. unable to display the selected folder or item. could not complete the operation. one or more parameter values are not valid."
 
Does Outlook start in safe mode? (start | run | type: outlook.exe /safe | ok
button)

Have you tried running the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against your
*.pst file(s) to rule out corruption?
