Can't Kill Internet Explorer

T

I am running a Xeon processor 3.2 ghx with extended memory extensions
turned on and 2 gigs of memory. Running Windows Xp Pro SP2 and
occasionally, about once a week, I will be unable to shutdown
iexplorer.exe process. It runs at 99% in the task manager and I have
tried to end process multiple times but it will not die. I am currently
running the latest anti-spyware beta program from microsoft, as well as
anti-virus software. Any ideas as to why this might be happening would
be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Tyler
