Can't install programs - please help!!

Can anyone help please

I can't run any setup.exe files. Other .exe files run, the
files are not inside a zipped file. DOn't work either on a
CD or the C drive.

I've run Regsupreme, defragged, tried NOrton systemworks,
searched the knowledge base ......

Running Win XP Pro.

This has been goin on for weeks and is driving me nuts -
any suggestions gratefully received

Hi:

Click "Start" and see the name listed above the top, it shall be the user
logged into the system. And when you logged into the window, what is the
user name in the log on screen?

THanks for the reply - but that just says my name - nothing about
administrator, none ofthe login names do

And I used to be able to run setup progs using this login

Any ideas?

Look at 'control panel' 'user accounts' to see whether you have
administrator rights or not. If not, change it. Shaun

Yes I am logged in as the administrator so that's not the problem

Any more ideas please?
