cant install firewire service pack

I cannot install firewire SP KB885222 message says "access denied"
"installation did not complete". Yes I am administrator and the only user of
this machine.
I have win xp home sp 2 alienware notebook area 51

note the item in question is not listed in add remove programs so it appears
that I didnt install it already. Yes I tried safe mode no differant.

I suggest you look through the posts in, and if needed post to the windows
update newsgroup.
