Can't install activesync 4.1

I have been trying to install activesync 4.1 so that I can sync data
with my i-mate k-jam.

But everytime I attempt to, I get an error message saying that in order
to install avtivesync 4.1 I need to running windows XP with the latest
service packs.

I am using Windows XP Professional, so what is the problem here? and
why won't it install?
I've never had any problems installing software before.

Please help someone,

Many thanks.

Ok, not sounding silly, but how can I find out whether I have it
installed?
Open the System applet in Control Panel and look on the General tab. It
will tell you the version and service pack level of your operating
system.

Ok after checking it just says Microsoft XP Professional 2002.
So I went to d/l SP2 from Microsoft website, but it keeps stopping, and
telling me I can't d.l it.

What should I do?

Just select Windows Update from Internet Explorer -> Tools.

You probably need all the other updates (especially the security ones) as
well.

If you can't update, perhaps you have an invalid copy of XP ??
