Can't insert images

Hi, I'm having trouble inserting images into a PowerPoint presentation.
There's no trouble using the stock photos that came with the program, but
whenever I try to insert a saved image, I keep getting a message that says,
"An error occured while importing this file"

What format are you saving them as? Why are you getting an "importing"
error message? You are supposed to be saving your images in some sort of
graphics program, switching to PowerPoint, clicking the "Insert" menu,
selecting "Pictures", "From file" and browsing to and selecting your images.

Tell us more of how you are doing this to get your error.

I don't know why I'm getting an importing error message. I'm saving them to
My Pictures, then going back to PowerPoint, clicking "insert", then down to
"picture", then "from file". No one I've talked to at home can figure it out
either.

Thanks.

I looked here
http://groups.google.com/groups?as_...1&as_maxd=14&as_maxm=12&as_maxy=2006&safe=off

Or use this shorter link: http://tinyurl.com/ye3rhq

Nothing definitive, though.

I would try two things.

1. Try inserting a JPG from somewhere else, preferably a
non-online/downloaded JPG. Do you still get the error message?

2. Open the JPG in an image editor. If you don't have one, try
http://www.irfanview.com for a good free one. Then resave the image and try
inserting it again.

I'm getting the images from Google Image, by clicking on the photo, then
clicking on "see full image", then right-clicking on the full-sized image
and
saving it. I tried to just drag the image, and also tried to copy and
paste
the image, those didn't work either.
