Can't insert a song

I am attempting to insert a song in a Powerpoint presentation. When I try to
insert it from my itunes folder, I get a message that says,"Powerpoint can
not insert a sound from the selected file. Verify that the path and filename
are correct, and then try again." What am I doing wrong?

To minimize problems, I would suggest using a format that is not iTunes
based.

Convert the song to WMA, WAV or MP3 then insert.

The song may be protected with DRM. PowerPoint won't use it if it is.
