Can't hear sound file on different version of PPT

I have created a PPT presentation with sound file on a Mac with PPT 2004
version. When we send it to any one and try to play on a PC version
1997-2000, the sound file doesn't play? Any help? Suggestions? Thanks!
 
It might have to do with the type of sound that you included, but it might
also be one of the issuses here:

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation
