Cant get voice to work in Yahoo Chat Rooms when switched over to Vista

Does anyone else have this problem? I seem to have gone deaf & dumb in Yahoo
Confy & Chat Rooms since I switched from XP to Vista Ultimate. I have tried
a few tricks posted in forums about True Speed Codec, but I am simply in
status-quo!! Would love to hear from others & also if there is a fix.

There is no "fix" as far as I know. Several of us have tried the solutions
listed on various sites. A couple got voice back for a while, but lost it
after a few days.

i'm not emailing you. the answer for many has been to completely
uninstall yahoo...all the extras that come with it. then do a custom
install and don't choose any extras. worked that way for me, and others
whom I've told on this forum. give it a try?

Something similar seems to happen to me with Skype. New install is okay
but once you attempt to adjust the mic manually you've had it - after
that the auto setting is so faint it's unusable. The manual setting then
becomes nothing at all...

Weird.
