Heres my problem:
I work for large mining Company, I recently left and I
brought my Laptop off them. Sinice it was a large
network, it has passwords and Admin rights. I also want
to remove the company's XP Pro and put my XP PRO lic on
there. I have tried Formating the drive, to start over
again. But Windows Xp wont allow me. The company's Admin
can't remember the password on it.

How can I put my Xp on the Computer and get rid of the
admins passwords?

Thank-you
Please email me. (e-mail address removed)

Hi,

Boot the retail disk, start a new installation. Opt to reformat as part of
it.

Hello!
This is a utility to (re)set the password of any user
that has a valid (local) account on your NT system, by
modifying the crypted password in the registrys SAM
file. You do not need to know the old password to set a
new one.

It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your
computer and boot off a floppydisk. The bootdisk includes
stuff to access NTFS partitions and scripts to glue the
whole thing together. Note: It will now also work with
SYSKEY, including the option to turn it off.

That's NOT answering his question! He wants to start with a clean state and
eliminate all the corporate bullshit from the company he worked for when he
purchased their computer. I would want to do the same, under similar
circumstances.

The answer is: Boot from the Windows XP CD and perform a clean install. When
you get to the choice of repair existing system or install new system,
choose install new system. Then highlight the partition for the existing
system. Delete the partition, create a new partition, format the partition
and away you go.
