Can't get rid of homepage and web pages won't display

On my home computer, a trashy web page/search page got set
as my default web browser. I have no idea how it got down
loaded or set as the home page. I have tried many times
to get rid of it by going to Tools, Options and tried to
reset my homepage back to msn.com. But when ever I exit
out of IE, the hompage is set back to that website.

Plus, I think that the website also did something to my
computer. I've tried to type in the address bar different
websites, but I get "page won't display" message. I know
that I am connected to the internet, I have no idea what's
going on. At first, I thought that maybe it was just
something wrong with IE, but then I tried to use Netscape,
the page won't display there either.

If anyone can help me i'd appreciate it

Mine does the same thing. When I open my browswer it
opens to the page about:blank with some crappy search
engine. It used to open to my yahoo but not anymore.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know
Ron

Try these parasite removal programs in this order.

Download and run Run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Then download, install, *update* and run both of these programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red-others are
optional.)
Both programs should be updated after installation- before use.

If these programs don't remove the malware, HijackThis should be used to
post a log to the appropriate forum at one of these sites.

I'm having the same general problem, however the search
engine auto.isearch.com will not allow me to access the
spyware web site or any of the others listed. Any advice?

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS
