Can't get Outlook to Use Word as editor

I've repeatedly checked the "Use Word" option in the Mail Format tab, but
Outlook still can't find word and resets the option. I've reinstalled office
twice and rebooted twice. What's wrong?

Hi DrDKM!

It may seem that your office settings has been corrupted here. Have you done
some basic steps?
Have you tried office detect and repair function located in the help menu?
This usualy resolved many problems just by two clicks.
Have you tried making yourself a new outlook profile just to see if this is
the way? This also can possibly solve the problem, follow this - > control
panel, e-mail, show profiles, add profile. Once gone through the wizard you
need to set which profile to start with and so you choose to be asked for
which profile to start with on outlook startup every time in the bottom of
the "show/add profiles window"

If it works with the new profile you can transfer all data to the new
profile and delete the old one or just set the new as default.

One other thing you can do that's real easy is to boot outlook in safemode.

If you got windows xp you can do this:

start
run
write: "outlook.exe /safe
press "enter"

Now you have started outlook without 3rd part interference.
Check if it got resolved now by this method. If it did there's something
outside outlook getting you into trouble.
