Can't get NIC working

Hi!

Please, any ideas?

After a WinXPPro reinstall and update to SP2, I can't get the NIC to work,
it just reports the error Code 31.

I already checked the WMI Repository clean up procedure, but it didn't help
either.

It seems, that some Ethernet components may be missing, as no Local Network
Connection is seen, but the Dial-up Connections are present on the Network
Connections.

Could this have something to do with the WMI more in general, and how to get
it working again, or reinstall it as a separate component?

I would delete the device in device manager. Install the drivers then
restart the computer.
