cant get mic to work

yeh i just got an audigy 2 zs platinum pro and i hooked
it all in but i cant get my mic to work it will only
record wat i hear not my voice. How do i fix this?? help

1. Check to see that the mic is plugged all the way into the correct jack.
2. Be sure the mic input is not muted in Volume Control.
3. Set the mic volume control at about 75-85% max to start with.
