Hi,

You did not download the Microsoft Java Machine, so it does not show
as 3810 Java Console, you downloaded the Sun Java machine, so it
should show up as Java (Sun)
Does it show?

From the original URL I posted:

"CAUSE

Java™ 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (JRE) is not enabled in
the web browser. If the JRE is already installed but applets do not
work, you may need to enable the JRE through your web browser.

SOLUTION

Please follow these instructions to enable the Sun JRE though your Web
browser:

Internet Explorer 4.x and Up

Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"
Select the Advanced Tab, and scroll down to "Java (Sun)"
Check the box next to the "Use Java 2" version
Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button
Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked.
Click OK to save your preference. "

Hi kcanary,

Under add remove programs it shows
Java 2 runtime enviroment SE v1.4.2_04
Where do I find the JRE to enable it?
Thanks kcanary

You enable it in IE > Internet Options > Advanced tab, under Java
(Sun)

Go here to check your Java:
http://www.bodo.com/javame.htm

If you see the page completely, then you are Java enabled, if not
check the following lines, under SOLUTION.
If you still have problems, after you have checked you are java
enabled, check the troubleshooting page:

I did not see the original post but I did have a problem with a user not
being able to get into yahoo movies!

Needed to be a power user or administrator? Are you one of these?

Hi,

yes I am Java Script enabled
now what? kcanary

Perform the steps described in this page:
http://java.com/en/download/help/yahoo.jsp

Among which are:
"Internet Explorer 5.XX or 6.XX for Windows

Click "Tools" in the menu bar, and then select "Internet Options."
Under the Security Tab, make sure the Security level is set to a
"Medium Safety Level" or lower.
Next, click the "Advanced" tab.
Scroll down until you see the sub heading "Java (Sun)."
Check the box next to "Use Java 2".
Note: If you customize your security settings, be sure that under the
heading, "Java permissions", the JRE is enabled. Or, you can select
the 'Medium Safety Level'. Also make sure that under Scripting,
"Scripting of Java Applets" is set to "Enable". "

Just to let you know that I was having the same problem and resolved it by doing the following:

Downloaded the MS Java Virtual Machine (msjavx86.exe) from the following site:

http://www.softech.cz/asp/download.asp?kod=jvm
It's at the bottom right of the page.

Then you need to visit the Windows Update site for an update to this JVM.

I then reinstalled the Sun Java.

Hope this helps someone because I wrestled with this for several hours.

I have had XP since Dec 2002, installed when i bought computer. I always have been able to play yahoo games, although i do know there is an issue with XP and games but i never had any trouble. Then about a month ago, when i sign in to yahoo from explorer, it starts showing "java class", goes to loading text, then downloading room state, then back out to the gray screen again showing text like "java class/y/g/scd.class.###. the ###'s constantly change and finally it goes to the room. When you try to sit at a table, it goes through all the class stuff again and finally, after a very long wait and sitting at a table you can't see yourself at, it finally loads.

I have downloaded MSVM, downloaded sun java, enabled java etc. all to no avail. I finally downloaded netscape and it works as well as that works which is fine but i'd rather use explorer.

I did not go to Windows update for a particular update but i did download java after i downloaded MSVM.

Any ideas?
Thanks, i know this is long.
