Can't get DATA ANALYSIS to show up

In Excel 2002, I check the Analysis Toolpak box in Add-Ins, but Data
Analysis won't show up in Tools. re-loading Excel doesn't help.

It's wierd, since if I check Solver, it immedately shows up below
Formula Auditing.

The installation does have a Analysis sub-directory, with these files:

analys32.xll
atpvbaen.xla
funcres.xla
procdb.xla

Any ideas ?

I've never had this problem, but I'd check to see if the addin is actually
loading when you check it.

Hit alt-F11 to get to the VBE (where macros live)
hit ctrl-R to view the project explorer (much like windows explorer)

Do you see an entry like:
funcres (FUNCRES.XLA)

If yes, then it looks like it's loading ok.

One more verification: Put this in C1 of an empty sheet:
=NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1)

Do you get 0 or do you get #name? (0 would indicate that it's loading fine.)

I tried deleting the "data analysis..." item from my Tools menu. Each time I
closed excel and reopened it, the (successfully loaded) addin would add it back
(so it doesn't look like a toolbar error to me).

Do you feel lucky?

How about this? Move those files from that analysis subfolder (make a note of
names and location).
For me, the same 4 files were under: C:\msoffice\Office10\Library\Analysis

Reopen excel and try installing the analysis toolpak again. I'm thinking that
excel will fail to find them, ask you to put in the installation CD and
reinstall them.

If that works, you can dump the files/folder that you used to copy the original
files.
