analysis toolpak

I bought the Student Ultimate Steal Package online.
I tried to add the analysis toolpak in Excel Option. But I doesn't show up
on the ribbon under Data.

How do I get this to work?
Do I need a physical CD?

Since you said "ribbon", I presume you bought Excel 2007. If so, you don't
have to add the Analysis Toolpak because its functions are now built-in to
that version of Excel.

My answer dealt with the functions from the Analysis ToolPak, but I see you
want the Data Analysis Tools. Here is how to activate that...

1. Click the Office Button (the big circular icon in the upper left corner

2. Click the Excel Options button

3. Click the Add-Ins entry on the left

4. Select Excel Add-ins from the Manage drop down box at the bottom of the
dialog panel and then click the Go button

5. Put a check mark next to the Analysis ToolPak item and click the OK
button

A Data Analysis panel should now be available on the Data tab.

I already did that but it still didn't show up on the ribbon under Data.

What do you mean functions from the analysis toolpak? You mean I can do the
function without having the Data Analysis Tools?

I have XL2007, but I have not really used it all that much, so I am probably
not the person you need for some of these questions. All I know is that when
I added the Analysis ToolPak add-in to my copy of XL2007, the Data Analysis
tool panel appeared on the Data tab automatically, so the process I outlined
worked for me. The functions I was talking about are the ones that you can
use inside of formulas you construct on the worksheet... those functions are
supposed to be built in, so if that is what you meant by "functions", then I
would advise you to just try using them and see what happens. If you are
unsuccessful in your efforts, I would advise reposting your question (adding
what you have tried) and see if another of the volunteers here more familiar
with XL2007 than me responds. By the way, make sure to mention that you are
using XL2007 in that reposting (if you need to repost, that is).
