can't get a dial up connection

I had to re-install windows xp. Now I can't get a dial up
connection. It will only let me have the option of a dsl
or lan line, which I can't use. Went to the microsoft
link, It showed me how to get the remote access connection
manger and remote acct. auto connect manger to start, but
get an error 1068 and an error 5. Something about access
denied.

I can't make a new connection until I can figure out how
to set up a new connection with the dial up option.

.

first of all, did your modem get detected and have the
correct drivers installed after you reinstalled windows?
If not then thats why you are only given the broadband
options since you computer doest detect your modem. Check
that first. Go to device manager and look for any modem
devices.
