Can't forward or re;ly to email in outlook express.

When I try to reply to or forward a message on outlook express, I get the
following error message

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'.
Subject 'Re: Hello........FYI', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server:
'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1
Authentication Required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error
Number: 0x800CCC78

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?

For a better, faster response, post this issue to an Outlook Express
newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
The one you posted to is for the browser, Internet Explorer 6.

In any case, that error may indicate that your email server does not
recognize the senders email address as being valid - there is an incorrect
email address in the mail profile. In OE go to Tools...Accounts...Mail
tab...Highlight email account...Properties... General tab. Check to see if
the Email and/or Reply to email address is correct.

If no joy, contact the ISP for your email account in question to make sure
you have all the other settings properly set in OE to use their email
servers.
