Can't find saved files

Hi,

I have been having problems with saved folders and files
disappearing. I am the only user so it's not a matter of
shared vs. unshared documents.

When I do a search, sometimes it will pull up the document
there, exactly where it should be, but when I close down
the search and look under my documents and subsequent
subfolders to the location I knew I had saved it and the
search also said it was located, it's not there!

Help! I really need to be sure that when I save something
it will be there!
