I attended at TechNet presentation today and they mentioned the guided help
feature in Vista Help. I thought it would be a great tool to show my users,
both the "do it for you" and step by step options. When I access help on my
32 bit business edition thought I am not seeing the "blue compass" that was
used to lauch this. I know not all help topics will have it, but I tried the
one they demoed and no luck. Did I not install something correctly?

You mean this? http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/demos.mspx

There are also select Knowledge Base articles that have "do it for me"
options if that is what you are referring to.

Tami,

I regret that Guided Help is no longer available in Windows Vista. We found
that given the way the technology worked, it was not possible to ensure a
uniformly high quality experience for most users across a broad range of
computers. In addition, ordinary Windows Updates had the potenial to "break"
Guided Help and required an enormous investment to keep those topics up to
date. As a result, we very recently removed the Guided Help topics from help
and replaced them with traditional procedural topics.

We're all still very excited about the potenial for interactive help, and
continue to investigate/invest in possible solutions for the future.

Dave,

Thank you for the information. As I mentioned I learned of this at a
Technet presentation so you might want to pass that information on to the
instructors.

From the preview, it looked like a great tool for users, so it would be a
great benefit if you are able to bring it or something similar back.
