can't find cd-rom icon in my computer

i'm trying to install an internet security program, and when i insert the cd
nothing pops up, so I went to my computer to double-click on the CD-ROM
drive, but there was no icon. On my old computer I remember seeing a CD-ROM
icon, but i just got a new one, and there is only a C drive icon, no CD-ROM.
what should I do?

Nick, if you just got a new computer it could be that the cdrom drive is not
connected. Open the case and check to see that
the white power plug and the Ribbon Data cable are connected. The red
stripe on the outer edge of the ribbon cable should
be facing the white power connector. If on the other side then disconnect
the ribbon cable and reconnect with the red stripe
facing power connector.

There are several helpful solutions you can try:
Solution 1: Restore the Windows to it's erliest time, then try to find the
CD-ROM drive icon again.
Solution 2 (Follow the instructions carefully and follow the steps):
Reinstall the Windows by use the Window xp operating system CD.
Solution 3: Find the driver from your computer manufacturer website and
reinstall it.
Solution 4: Get a new CD-ROM Drive and remove the old one(Make sure you have
read the system requirements before you run to the store)
Solution 5: Return your computer for the full refund.

*Try each one of them and see which one works for you. If you still couldn't
find the CD-ROM drive, E-mail me!
