can't find any dll's well a lot anyway

I have winxp pro and service pack 1 with latest patches
wait its been 10 minutes maybe not LOL

I installed norton system works and on load it says it can't find msvcp70.dll
I fixed that well I thought I did, then its I can't find msvcv70.dll
which I can't get to work no matter what.
A friend said oh those are in office...install that.
what is he talking about and why can't norton find or install what it needs?

I am more conserned with the future than what I am seeing

stuff I included was copied and pasted from the link I gave you. msvcp70.dll is from C++
Runtime Library not Office. There are two versions there. Take your pick. I would
download the latest version.
What do you mean by: "So these types of files should or should not be installed
when xp installs???" Is XP installed on your machine or not?? Did you do a search on
your machine for msvcp70.dll?? Do you have it?? Do you need it?? Do you need norton
system works??
You have the info. Do what you want. "A friend said oh those are in office...install
that."

but all I asked was are these files supposed to be installed along
with XP?
I tried the same norton on my work machine with xp and it ran fine.
I tried it again at home and it says it can't find the files.
no a scan does not find the files either.

like I said is this a full install or something new. My work machine
was XP and later got service pack 1 and upgrades

home is XP with service pack 1 all on the install disk. Later got the
upgrades from ms.

anyone know if these dlls should be std with xp or patch or ???
