Can't figure out how to separate pics from slides

A newbie question to be sure. I'm using informational slides in between
pictures, but what I want to accomplish is to avoid having the slide
background behind pictures; some are portrait and some are landscape. I
don't want to lose the slide background on the informational slides, but I
don't want it behind the pics, just black. Can someone point me. Thanks.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using?

On the slides you want to have the black back ground, click Format | Background
| Background fill, select Black, then select Apply *do not Select Apply to All*
this will make just the indicated slide have a black background.

Not being a reader, the only book I have looked at on this subject is one
written by a fellow MVP Brian Reilly, entitled "Create PowerPoint Presentations
In a weekend". I'm sure there are others out there. But, for a quick answer to
any question just ask it here.

I'm using PP 2002. Maybe you can recommend a good book.
Thanks, BuddyB

Thanks, that helps.
