Can't do Windows Update: IE 6.0 W2K ????

Hello,

I have IE 6.0 with all latest updates and now can't get
WindowsUpdate to work. It will scan my computer, but when
I go to apply the updates it found I needed, I get a white
screen on left part of IE window, a delay and then "The
page cannot be displayed".

ANy thoughts? maybe spyware? This worked 3 weeks ago.
Also I had problems downloading W2k Sp4 and the same kind
of delay and errmsg at bankone.com and other sites.
