can't display graphics

some jpg and gif don't display in ie6 sp1. I get a red X.
can go to view and encoding and change to western
(windows) and it works but the next page you bring up it
goes back to western (ISO). Any solutions please reply

Make sure that you have the necessary .nls files in your computer and that
the registry settings are correct.
