Can't delete unwated folders on external hard drive

Hi! :)

I just sent this to Lasonic support, thought it couldn't hurt to post here
too in case anyone knows anything.

I got one of your 250G external USB HD's for storage space and my laptop
keeps putting items on it that I did not tell it to put there. I sometimes
can delete the recycle/recycled folders no problem, but those keep coming
back, I sometimes can't delete them and there is a "System Volume
Information" folder that gets a "access is denied" message when I try to
delete it. I want to try plugging the external HD into a Win98 comp to see
if that'll let me delete the "System Volume Information" folder, but I can't
find a driver for Win98. When I go to lasonic.com, once the page is fully
loaded, the URL changes to http://www.lasonic.com/scripts/default.asp and the
"download center" link shows as being just that URL with a # stuck on the
end. Additionally, I noticed that though right clicking on "System Volume
Information" and selecting Properties says the folder contains zero folders
and bytes, if I highlight everything in E:\ except "System Volume
Information," right click and select Properties, the size result is one Gig
less than if I go to My Computer and right click/Properties on the E:\ icon,
leading me to think that when I right click/Properties on "System Volume
Information" and get zero folders and bytes, I'm being mushroomed (kept in
the dark and fed s***)

Any idea where I can find a Win98 driver, how I can delete ALL unwated
folders/files and prevent them from coming back?

The "System Volume Information" folder is a Windows system folder.
It has nothing to do with Lasonic and you cannot delete it unless you
format the partition. Leave it where it is.

Any idea how it got there to start with? Wondering since my comp hasn't
tried to do the same to my 128M USB flash drive or a 3.5" floppy.
