Can't delete messages from inbox

I am have a very strange problem when trying to delete eMails for one of the
accounts on our network. We are using Outlook 2K3 on a SBS 2K3 domain. For
one user only, when I try to delete some messages, it replies, "Could not
complete the deletion. The items may have been already deleted or moved".

If that is the case, why does it still show in the inbox. I am guessing
something is corrupted, but could use a hint or two as to what and what to
do about it.

The same thing happens when I try to move one of these messages to another
folder, deleted items or junk mail or spam.

Is there something between being in Cached mode and not, because the user(s)
used to not be running in cached mode. I don't really know what changed it
unless it had something to do with rollouts from SBS. The server was only
recently migrated from W2K/Ex2K to SBS2K3.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have that happen on occasion myself when trying to delete, especially large
amounts of emails. Sometimes I can delete if I go through one by one but
sometimes a mailbox repair is in order. Also sometimes I can delete by
right-clicking the individual email instead of using the delete button, and
sometimes I need to start Outlook in safe mode. HTH, at least to start with.

Thanks for the reply Kathleen. I have tried one at a time; I have tried
shift-delete; I have tried safe mode; nothing works unless I go to cached
mode. Then they get deleted in the .ost file, but it never sync's up to the
server so if I go back to uncached, they all come back and can not be deleted
because they were "either moved or already deleted, or access was denied."

I'm getting really frustrated on this one.
