cant delete file

Hello, when working on windows xp pro i cant delete a
file, and i get a msg "Error Deleting File or Folder,
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected..."
my acount type is administrator.
the file isnt protected, and the disk isnt full, neither
in use.
what can i do?

Are you sure it is a file that should be deleted?
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Choose Safe Mode at the menu.
Select Administrator.
Now try to delete it.
