CAN'T DELETE APPOINTMENT FROM CALENDAR--ERROR MESSAGE

I can't delete an appointment--it doesn't show on the calendar or my black
berry but it reminds me every hour---keeps me from being able to hotsync
I get an error messsage when trying to hot sync

It is the appointment you can't delete or the reminder? Close outlook and
reopen using the /cleanreminders switch.

it is the reminder, the appointment is deleted in the calendar. can find it
in the search but can't open it or delete it. thanks for yur suggestions
