can't delete a STARTUP file

Hi,
Just a follow up from my other post but hopefully to answer one related
problem...... I am unable to delete a file from my Microsoft/Word/STARTUP
folder. In fact I can't do anything with it. Is there another method to get
rid of the file that is causing me so many problems.

What's the file?
Close Word
Reboot Windows - try and delete the file using Windows Explorer.

The file is a template that I use in my work. I have tried your suggestion
but if I right click on the file and click delete I confirm the file delete
pop up and nothing happens. The file is still there. If I change it's name
the computer stalls.
