can't delete a program

in ,add and remove programs i have some programs that i'd like to delete, but it wont let me. I get "cant find main class", or nothing seems to happen. and on the program I 'm trying to delete theres NO file size or date. I might have deleted a file to that program by mistake. I tried system restore ,nothing works. I once had this problem before, I reinstalled the program then deleteing it worked. but some other programs won't. very confused. any help would be great!
